Antfood - "Trek"

This song was created for an Emirates Airlines advertisement.  The song, in my opinion, is way better than the ad, which you can see below.  The piano riff reminds me of The Lumineers.

Balmorhea

I'm way behind on music.  I increasingly worry that I've lost touch, which is probably true.  But here's a new track from Balmorhea.

Courrier

A friend of mine here in Austin directed a pretty cool music video for the band Courrier.  Check it out.

Frank Ocean - "Forrest Gump"

I'm just getting into Frank Ocean's Channel Orange album, but I like what I hear so far.  Check out the track "Forrest Gump" below.

The Lumineers - "Ho Hey"

I heard this song by The Lumineers on a Bing.com commercial today.  It's a fun Americana love song.  Take a listen.

Song of the Day

This is what Michael Bublé would sound like if he was in an indie rock band.

Ellie Goulding Covers The Weeknd

Check out this cover of The Weeknd's "High For This" by Ellie Goulding.  I only have one other song from Ellie Goulding in my iTunes library - a cover of Bon Iver's "The Wolves."  Apparently she is good at covers.

The Walkmen

On Tuesday, The Walkmen release their latest album Heaven.  I've been a fan of The Walkmen since I saw them play "Little House of Savages" on The O.C.  And no I'm not ashamed to admit I watched The O.C. religiously in college.  Check out a track from the new album below.  It sounds like The Walkmen are taking a more laid back approach this time around.

Nick Waterhouse

I had a conversation on Friday about the Take Away Shows from La Blogotheque.  It's been awhile since I've seen what they recorded.  Lo and behold, they had a performance by Nick Waterhouse filmed in Austin.  Nick is a modern artist with a 50's sound.  The sax steals the show in this performance.

The Tallest Man on Earth - "1904"

A lot of my favorite bands are dropping new albums in May and June.  One such band is The Tallest Man on Earth, whose album There's No Leaving Now releases June 12.  Check out a track from the album below.

Beck - "I Only Have Eyes For You (Cover)"

It's finals season at the law school, which means most of my time is taken reviewing pages and pages of notes. But I did come across this cover from Beck, his rendition of The Flamingos' 1960's hit "I Only Have Eyes For You." It was good enough that I was willing to make time to post it. I'm a sucker for the oldies.

Ben Howard - "Old Pine"

I feel like I've posted this song before, but maybe not. So I'm posting it again. Here's a pretty little number from Ben Howard.

Hospitality - "Friends of Friends"

Here's a track from Brooklyn pop-rockers Hospitality. It's a catchy tune. From what I can tell, Hospitality released an EP a few years back, but their debut, self-titled album just dropped Tuesday.

Here's another modern band with a retro sound, Allah-Las. Check out a song below and watch the vintage music video below that if you'd like.
