It surprised me to learn that it's been ten years since The Strokes released their debut album Is This It. Maybe it should also surprise me that it's been ten years since I graduated high school. In honor of this ten year anniversary, Stereogum decided to curate a tribute album to The Strokes debut: eleven bands covering the eleven tracks on the album. I never followed The Strokes very closely and didn't pay much attention to Is This It. However, it's interesting to hear alternative takes on these tracks. One of my favorites is below.
